LONDON (Alliance News) – Electronics firm CAP-XX Ltd on Thursday said its manufacturing partner has launched “the world’s lowest profile 0.4 millimetre supercapacitator” using the company’s technology.
CAP-XX makes thin, flat supercapacitors that are used in space-constrained, handheld and wearable electronics and products are made by Japanese firm Murata Manufacturing Co Ltd under a licensing agreement signed back in 2008.
On Thursday, the London-listed company said Murata has introduced the DMH Series that uses its patent-protected technology. The product will assist devices when at peak power and used in wearable applications and “other various devices,” CAP-XX said.
Murata will present the DMH Series later Thursday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, US, which is due to end on Saturday, and will begin producing the product sometime in February.
CAP-XX shares were trading 8.9% higher on Thursday at 6.12 pence per share.
