European Passive Components Institute (EPCI) is pleased to announce establishment of its online Passive Components Handbook: e-PassiveBook. The mission and vision of the e-PassiveBook is to become the favourite up-to date online tool for the industry specialists, component & reliability engineers, circuit designers, graduate students and all wide public with interest in the passive components industry.
The basic content, in the first phase, is to digitalise and edit the P-O.Fagerholt’s famous CLR Passive Components Handbook. EPCI recently obtained the rights to use this handbook from CTI Inc. (see the news)
The next step will be to review the content and update it in order to reflect the latest stage of the industry and technology.
The e-PassiveBook will be then expanded to include also other passive components in the next phase.
The first sub-chapter of the P-O.Handbook has been already digitalised and edited to fit the website format. Please see the e-PassiveBook concept and the first view pages here.
The website format is a specific format, thus the handbook has to be practically re-writtten and re-edited to fit into it to offer complete search function, structure, formating and quality of pictures. However, this process is time and resources consuming. That is why we are looking for visionairy companies that are open to actively support the passive component industry and the e-PassiveBook concept by some financial sponsorship. The sponsors logo will be shown in a sidebar of the e-PassiveBook as an acknowledgement.
I would like to thank all those people who actively offered their help and supported the institute so far. The level of positive feedback from the industry was a big surprise for me and it is a big motivation to continue in the outlined effort.
Tomas Zednicek, president of the Europan Passive Components Institute
