EPCI is pleased to announce that Luca Primavesi, president of Itelcond has become the next external EPCI co-operating expert effective December 1st, 2018.
Luca, based in Italy, is currently a president of Itelcond (https://www.itelcond.it/en), SME company manufacturing aluminium electrolytic capacitors. He has a chemical engineering and applied physical chemistry background, he is member of the International Society of Electrochemistry and guest researcher at Politecnico of Milan, where he gives lectures and supervises thesis.
“I have met Luca at EPCI PCNS conferences and trade fairs as a pleasant person to communicate with and exchange our opinions. I highly valued his insights from the position of a small SME company, close to its products, willing to co-operate with academia to understood the core of the material and product science to move the technology up to the next innovations. I am glad to welcome Luca on-board as valuable extension of our passive industry experienced team.”
said Tomas Zednicek, president of EPCI.
“SMEs have a lot to say when it comes to sourcing, mainly in niche markets or in very early markets. They have very short decisional processes, whose a partner can benefit, no matter what its size is. On the other hand, SMEs are exposed to the risk to have a shorter sight of the market and of its trends and they may experience difficulties when they have to research instead of transferring technology. Here is when they shall take the decision to ask the academia to partner; this is what we are doing at Itelcond and this is the goal of EPCI – I found it was a perfect fit.
My goal is, then, to facilitate SMEs to enter this arena, leaving old prejudices regarding academia and, maybe, convincing academia to leave old prejudices about SMEs.
This two players, in my opinion, are nowadays ready to partner but sometimes it looks like they are shy. This is the result that I’m willing to get, working with EPCI, by facilitating the communication, on the base of my experience.”
commented Luca Primavesi his reasons to join the team of EPCI external experts.
