Precision foil wraparound chip resistors in the FRSG series from VPG Foil Resistors operate in harsh environments with temperatures of up to +225°C. The surface-mount devices have gold-plated terminals and provide a temperature coefficient of resistance of ±2.5 ppm/°C from -55°C to200°C, +25°C ref.
Optimized for avionics, military, and space applications, as well as down-hole drilling and oil/gas exploration, the parts cover a resistance range of 10 Ω to 125 kΩ, with any conceivable ohmic value within this range (to six digits) available at no additional cost or lead time. FRSG series resistors offer tight tolerances of ±0.01% and load-life stability to ±0.1% after 2000 hours of working power at 200°C.
The devices come in six case sizes, ranging from 0603 to 2512, and deliver working power to 750 mW at +70°C and 300 mW at +200°C. Rise time is 1 ns with effectively no ringing, and thermal stabilization time is less than 1 s (within 10 ppm of steady-state value). Other specifications include current noise of ≤0.010 µVRMS/V of applied voltage (<-40 dB) and a voltage coefficient of <0.1 ppm/V.
The RoHS-compliant resistors withstand electrostatic discharges of at least 25 kV for increased reliability and offer a non-inductive (<0.08 µH), non-capacitive design. Prototype samples are available on request. Production quantities are available in as few as 10 weeks.
