Today an innovative sensor system contains much more than just the single sensor cell. The increasing miniaturization in microelectronics development makes it possible today to design ASICs with remarkable performance and minimal size (Moore’s law).
The presentation will show that besides an analogue to digital converter also complex digital signal processing is integrated. The performance of the ASIC is not only used to guarantee a compensated and balanced output signal. Complex algorithms also ensure signal evaluation, so that only application-relevant information needs to be forwarded.
