Electronics Supply Chain Weekly Digest 12-6-24.

DATAPOINT OF THE WEEK: China’s Auto market remained hot in November with passenger sales and production reaching record high numbers driven by government trade-in policies and continued price discounts, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

Passenger vehicles production and sales surged 15% Y/Y surpassing the 3 million mark for the first time, and exceeding the prior peak of 2.6 million set in Dec 2023.

NEV sales remained strong growing 47% Y/Y to 1.5 million with BEVs growing 38% to 908k and PHEV growing 89% Y/Y to 604K. The commercial market, however, remained sluggish declining 15% in both production and sales.

China export numbers were also weak with overall unit growth slowing to 3% Y/Y, following double-digit growth through all of 2024. NEV exports were notably weak declining by 12% Y/Y.
