CAP-XX said Monday TDK Corporation had agreed to licence a family of the company’s patents on a non-exclusive basis for a range of supercapacitor sizes.
TDK, an electronic component supplier, with sales in excess of US$11bn and over 100,000 employees, would join Murata and AVX as licencees of CAP-XX’s supercapacitor IP, further enhancing CAP-XX’s strategy of building and licencing its IP portfolio.
The royalty rate that would be paid TDK to CAP-XX was in line with the royalty rate agreed to in other licence agreements previously announced with Murata and AVX, CAP-XX said.
‘We are delighted to have licenced our supercapacitor technology to TDK, which is a leading participant in the global electronics market. We expect other licence agreements to follow for our intellectual property, which is critical to the production of supercapacitors as well as other related applications,’ said Anthony Kongats, Chief Executive of CAP-XX.
