Stackpole announced metal film current sense precision resistors with tolerances down to 0.5% and low TCR of 50 or 100 ppm.
Power supplies and current sensing circuits have diverse requirements because of the wide range of end products they serve.
Applications do not always require a low value to accompany the demand for low temperature coefficient of resistance TCR. It can be challenging to find a resistor for applications that require low TCR sense resistors, yet don’t need extremely low resistance values for high current handling.
Low resistance values typically offer low TCR options, but higher resistance values are typically thick film elements with poor TCR and limited tolerance down to only 1%.
Stackpole’s CSRT current sense resistors feature tolerances down to 0.5% and TCR of 50 or 100 ppm depending on value and are AEC-Q200 compliant. In addition, the CSRT offers high power handling with a 2512 size chip rated up to 3.5W.
The excellent precision performance of the CSRT makes it a good choice for power supplies for currents between 2A and 17A, industrial power control, consumer electronics, telecom, computer, measurement equipment, battery management, and LED drivers.
