Stackpole adds 3.5-W current-sense chip resistor

Stackpole Electronics has expanded its CSRT family with the introduction of the high-power CSRT2512-UP current-sense chip resistor for applications that require high sensing precision and high power where the temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) is more important than low resistance values.

Power supplies and power controls have a wide range of sensing requirements. For applications that require high sensing precision and high power where the element TCR is more important than low resistance values, the CSRT2512-UP offers a 3.5W rated chip resistor in a package that normally only allows for 1 or 2 watts.

The CSRT2512-UP offers 50 ppm TCR in resistance values from 50 milliohm up to 33 ohms and absolute resistance tolerances as low as 0.5%. The metal film element of the CSRT has excellent environmental stability as well showing very low resistance shift over a range of industry standard performance tests such as load life, biased humidity, and short time overload. The outstanding electrical and environmental stability of the CSRT makes it a popular choice for a wide range of consumer electronics, computer and telecom equipment, measurement systems, battery power management, motor controls, and high-end power supplies.
