VINATech, a global leader in advanced energy storage solutions, announced the advancement of its Energy Storage System (ESS) technology with the introduction of a new hybrid model.

This system is designed to provide rapid energy release from its supercapacitors, enabling seamless integration with external lithium-ion battery systems to meet sudden energy demands. This combined approach significantly enhances power stability and safety for modern energy grids.

The development of this hybrid ESS builds upon a long-standing collaboration with KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation), a partnership that has driven innovation in energy storage since 2010. This collaboration culminated in 2022 with the successful installation of the world’s largest MW-class high-capacity supercapacitor Hybrid ESS at the Gochang Electric Power Test Center in Korea.

This groundbreaking system is now poised to address critical energy challenges beyond Korea. Through a strategic collaboration with Lumcloon Energy, the same hybrid ESS technology will be deployed to support a local power grid stabilization project in Ireland. This marks a significant step in providing reliable and safe energy solutions to global partners.

VINATech‘s hybrid ESS leverages the unique strengths of its supercapacitors:

  • Supercapacitors provide instant power bursts for frequency regulation and voltage support, crucial for stabilizing grids under fluctuating loads.
  • The system is designed to complement the sustained, high-capacity energy supply delivered by partner lithium-ion battery systems.

This synergy enables the hybrid ESS to offer an unparalleled level of efficiency, reliability, and safety, making it an ideal solution for a variety of applications, including renewable energy integration, grid stabilization, and industrial power management.
