Electronics Supply Chain Weekly Digest 5-30-25.
DATAPOINT OF THE WEEK:
New car registrations in Europe decreased 0.3% Y/Y and 24.3% M/M in April, according to ACEA data. BEV sales decreased 24% M/M but continued to grow Y/Y for the fourth straight month with sales increasing 27.8% Y/Y in April.
BEVs now account for 17.1% of the market, up from 13.4% in April 2024. PHEV sales increased 31.2% Y/Y in April but decreased 17.9% M/M growth following strong growth in March. HEVs continued its strong growth with 16.9% Y/Y growth in April but decreased 29.3% M/M.
HEVs now account for 34.6% of the market, up from 29.5% in April 2024. The strong Y/Y growth in EVs has resulted in an acceleration in the decline of ICE vehicle registrations. ICE sales declined 22.2% Y/Y and 20.9% M/M, and accounted for 39% of the market, down from 49% in April 2024.
