binder, a provider of industrial circular connectors, is now expanding its portfolio with M8-D-coded connectors with single wires. This new variant allows users to customize the wiring to their specific requirements and achieve even better transmission results (e.g., in the Profinet standard).
With increasing networking and growing information exchange in factory automation, the demand for reliable and flexible connection solutions is rising.
“The new M8-D-coded connectors with single wires enable reliable communication between controllers, sensors, and actuators in manufacturing and process plants. We supply the single wires untwisted, allowing customers to twist them according to their application needs to achieve even better transmission results,” explains Guido Werner, Product Manager at binder.
“We developed this solution because the demand for these connectors in the automation industry will continue to grow, driven by the increasing exchange of information in industrial automation.”
This is confirmed by the growing customer demand for M8-D-coded panel mount connectors with single wires, which prompted the development of this solution. Since binder’s M8-D product portfolio already includes overmolded cables, field-attachable connectors, and panel mount connectors with solder contacts, this product represents the next logical step in portfolio expansion.
Better Connections in Factories, Energy, and Medical Technology
The factory-supplied untwisted single wires offer versatile application possibilities due to their customization potential. M8-D-coded connectors are ideal for industrial communication and enable reliable signal and data transmission in machines and systems. In factory automation, they play a crucial role in networking devices and ensuring secure data transmission and logging.
These solutions are also used in transportation and logistics systems, for example, for connecting sensors and controllers in conveyor systems or for controlling and monitoring transport vehicles. Additionally, they are applied in the energy sector, such as in wind power plants, as well as in medical technology, where they connect devices and sensors in diagnostic and therapeutic systems.
Guido Werner explains: “Connectivity is a megatrend that goes far beyond a technological development – it is rapidly driven by exponentially growing data volumes across many industries. With the new connectors with single wires, we are expanding our portfolio with a solution that contributes to optimizing data and signal connections in a wide range of applications.”
