Skeleton Technologies hosted key parteners at their soon-to-be-completed Leipzig supercapacitors manufacturing superfactory.
We had the great pleasure of hosting several key partners at our soon-to-be-completed Leipzig Superfactory. Joining us were Terumasa Watanabe (CEO of Marubeni International), Dai Sakakura (Senior Operating Officer, Next Generation Business Development Div. at Marubeni Corporation), Tiit Riisalo (Minister of Economic Affairs and Information Technology of Estonia), Nadine Stitterich (Mayor of Markranstädt), Sebastian Gemkow (Minister of Science and Member of Parliament of Saxony), His Excellency Amb. Hidenao Yanagi, and several other esteemed guests.
We proudly showed what our future production will look like and celebrated the importance of strong partnerships and cooperation between Estonia, Japan and Germany to boost cleantech manufacturing. We could not develop and achieve such projects without strong partners like Marubeni and our other international allies who share the same values, particularly in times of protectionism.
Since 2017, Skeleton has established a strong presence in Germany. The imminent completion of the Leipzig Superfactory symbolizes a significant milestone, highlighting our productive and growing relationship with the state of Saxony
The new high-tech plant located in the town of Markranstädt will increase our production capacity by up to 40 times and employ up to 240 people. Automated and digitalized mass production is scheduled to start by the end of 2024.
Beyond our production expansion in Germany, we aim to fortify our presence in Asia. To strengthen the cooperation with our Japanese investor and strategic partner Marubeni Corporation, an investment agreement was signed to finance the completion of the Leipzig factory and to increase sales of the energy storage products produced at the plant in Asian markets.
