DATAPOINT OF THE WEEK: China retail auto sales remained strong in June with continued double-digit growth Y/Y across all major segments, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

Total passenger vehicles increased 18% y/y, vs mid-teens growth in the prior 3 months. NEV sales grew 30% Y/Y, and PHEV sales grew 34%, both consistent with the recent trend and ahead of the preliminary estimates.

Auto exports were also strong, growing 27% y/y, continuing the strong trend from May, and improving from the signs of flatlining in April and March. NEV exports accelerated with growth reaching 148% y/y vs 113% in May and a 50-60% increase in the prior months.
