KOA Increases Power Ratings of its Wide Terminal Chip Resistors

11.4.2025
Reading Time: 2 mins read
A A

KOA releases new wide terminal (reverse geometry) flat SMD chip resistors. The terminal temperature specifications enable even higher power ratings specification.

KOA’s WK73R/WK73S new wide terminal type flat SMD chip resistors have a structure with large electrodes for excellent heat dissipation and can apply higher power compared to short-side electrode resistors of the same size.

It is now possible to guarantee even higher power ratings by applying terminal temperature regulations and reviewing the specifications to WK73R/WK73S.

As a result, the series has accomplished higher rated power in all sizes from 0204 inch to 1225 inch, including a guaranteed maximum rated power of 4 W in the 1225 inch size (WK73S).

The category power enables high power application even at high temperatures and power can be applied up to  0.833 W at 155°C in the 0508 inch size (WK73S).

Compared to general-purpose chip resistors (RK73 series), it contributes to downsizing of circuits and reduction in the number of components. AEC-Q200 Tested.

Features

  • Flat chip resistors of wide terminal type.
  • High reliability and performance with TCR ±100×10-6/K,
  • resistance tolerance ±0.5%.
  • Suitable for both reflow and flow solderings.
  • Products meet EU-RoHS requirements.
  • AEC-Q200 Tested

Applications

  • Car electronics
  • power supply
  • industrial equipment, etc.
