Samsung Electro-Mechanics has outlined an ambitious growth roadmap at its 52nd General Shareholders’ Meeting.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics company is pivoting its portfolio toward high-value-added solutions for advanced driver-assistance systems ADAS, AI servers and next-generation mobility, while accelerating new businesses under its Mi-RAE Project.

52nd General Shareholders’ Meeting Highlights

Samsung Electro-Mechanics held its 52nd General Shareholders’ Meeting on March 19 2026 at the EL Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, supported by electronic voting and a live online stream to improve shareholder access and participation. All agenda items were approved, including financial statements, director elections and director remuneration limits.

Shareholders re-elected Lee Yoonjung as an outside director, while President and CEO Chang Duckhyun and Kim Sungjin, Executive Vice President of the Management Support Office, were reappointed as inside directors. The board structure continues to emphasize independent oversight, with an outside director serving as chairman and women accounting for half of the outside directors, a practice in place since 2014.

Strategic Direction: From Low Growth to High-Value Expansion

In his presentation to shareholders, CEO Chang described the past year period as a difficult year marked by low growth, geopolitical tensions and macroeconomic uncertainty. Despite this environment, Samsung Electro-Mechanics surpassed KRW 10 trillion in annual sales for the first time since its founding, supported by a deliberate shift toward high-value-added products and a stronger focus on AI/server and automotive electronics demand, alongside internal efficiency improvements.

Looking ahead, the company is committing to growth that outpaces its addressable markets by sharpening its business portfolio around high-growth and high-profit segments such as AI, servers and automotive electronics. Management plans to reinforce Operational Excellence through quality enhancements, productivity gains and cost structure optimization to support this transition.

Focus on Automotive Electronics and AI/Server

CEO Chang identified automotive electronics and AI/server solutions as key pillars of Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ mid‑term strategy. In automotive, ADAS is expected to act as a primary growth driver in 2025 as vehicle electrification and autonomous features expand.

On the AI side, rising investments by global cloud service providers CSPs are creating strong demand for high-performance components in AI servers and accelerators. Samsung Electro-Mechanics plans to expand supply of its core products into these applications, focusing on MLCCs for AI power integrity and decoupling, advanced package substrates for high-performance processors, and silicon capacitors for compact, high-frequency power delivery architectures.

The company aims to reach KRW 2 trillion in revenue from automotive electronics and AI/server products by 2025, reinforcing its position as a growth-oriented, global market leader in high-value component solutions. This will be supported by strengthening high-value product lineups in each core business division and broadening the customer base across automotive OEMs, tier‑1 suppliers, AI infrastructure providers and hyperscale data center operators.

Mi-RAE Project: New Growth Platforms

To secure long-term growth beyond its existing portfolio, Samsung Electro-Mechanics is accelerating its Mi-RAE Project, a new business initiative named from Mobility industry, Robot, AI/Server and Energy. Under Mi-RAE, the company is developing several next‑generation technologies that leverage its expertise in materials, miniaturization and high‑reliability design.

Key Mi-RAE development areas include small-sized all-solid-state batteries, silicon capacitors optimized for high‑frequency, high‑density designs, hybrid lenses tailored to automotive and robotics vision systems, glass substrates for next-generation semiconductor packaging and solid oxide technologies such as SOEC and SOFC. The company is also exploring humanoid robots as a future electronics platform, supported by its competencies in camera modules, advanced substrates and high-reliability power components.

A pilot line for glass substrates is scheduled to be established at the Sejong manufacturing site this year, where Samsung Electro-Mechanics plans to showcase early prototypes. CEO Chang noted that the company is co-developing glass substrate and glass interposer technologies with leading AI and server customers to address the performance and integration needs of future high‑density packages.

Positioning in a Changing Global Landscape

CEO Chang observed that China is evolving from its historical emphasis on manufacturing and production into a more innovation-driven economy, which opens up new collaboration and market opportunities for Samsung Electro-Mechanics. By focusing on high-barrier, high-value components and system‑level solutions, the company intends to reduce exposure to commoditized segments and better align with structural growth trends such as AI infrastructure build-out, ADAS penetration and electrified powertrains.

Recent shareholder and market communications from Samsung Electro-Mechanics and external coverage underline this transformation, highlighting record revenues, double‑digit operating profit growth and a systematic restructuring away from legacy low‑margin businesses toward AI servers, EVs and robotics. This broader context reinforces the strategic themes presented at the 52nd General Shareholders’ Meeting and frames the Mi-RAE Project as a key vector for future differentiation and profitability.
