The Excellence in Senior Design Showcase is the first and only competition of its kind for electrical and computer engineering students in the United States. Students who are currently enrolled in a senior design capstone have the opportunity to get recognized for their hard work, network with leading industry professionals, and meet top ECE teams from institutions across the Southwest.

“As a manufacturer of electronic and electromechanical components, we are proud to be supporting the engineers of tomorrow and allow them to showcase their accomplishments alongside their peers. We believe that giving them the opportunity to be judged, but also network with professionals from their industry, is a valuable experience at the beginning of their careers”, says Thibault Paillier, Strategic Partnership Manager at Würth Elektronik.

Engineering students from across the southwest, including Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas will compete to win.

“Würth Elektronik was the first to catch the vision of the ExCEllence in Senior Design Showcase.  They made this event possible.  Their sponsorship is enabling students and their faculty mentors to showcase their accomplishments, engage with top professionals, win awards for excellence and see what their peers at other institutions have done! It will certainly encourage all of us to become better and better,” says PhD Lawrence Overzet, Department Head for Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. “The excitement of studying and working in ECE as well as the vigor with which ECE students impact the world to be a better place is absolutely contagious. Würth Elektronik, by enabling the ExCEllence in Senior Design Showcase, has put itself at the forefront of infecting the world with such enthusiasm.”

The competing students will also have the chance to win prizes in a variety of categories including the Würth Elektronik Best Engineering Design Award, along with special devices from joining sponsors and cash gifts.
