This Würth Elektronik video introduces REDEXPERT EMI Filter Designer as a tool to simplify filter calculation and filter selection.

REDEXPERT Filter Designer is suited for input filters for DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, but also output filters.

The tool is very useful to design a differential mode input filter or specific noise filter without going into complex filter calculation. Instead of using trial-and-error for determining the components needed to create the filter, the REDEXPERT EMI Filter Designer does all the calculations based on a few input parameters.

It uses the non-ideal component models, which includes the parasitics, to determine the performance of the filter and takes into account system impedances. Using the correct input parameters, as described, the tool can reduce the process of making a design EMC compliant in time and cost.
