Thermal Shock Stability Test on Thin Film vs Bulk Metal Foil Resistors; VPG Video

VPG Foil Resistors’ released a video compering how Bulk Metal® Foil easily outperforms Thin Film equivalent in this brutal thermal shock and cycling demo.

Critical applications operating in severe temperatures require resistors that will remain perfectly stable. Instability caused by damage from thermal expansion and contraction can lead to component failure and ultimately system failure. Circuits in remote, inaccessible locations performing crucial operations require a resistor durable enough to maintain its intrinsic properties. This demo shows how Bulk Metal® Foil resistors easily outperform thin film equivalents after multiple -200°C to +100°C temperature cycles.
