Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has begun mass production of ultra compact 008004 inch size (0.25 x 0.125 mm) “LQP01HV series” film type high-frequency SMD chip inductors that possess the industry’s highest level of Q characteristics.

As RF circuits for compact mobile devices such as smartphones are becoming more multifunctional and sophisticated, the number of implemented electronic components is increasing and installation spaces are also being reduced.

Additionally, since the mounting area for batteries within the mobile device interior is increasing, RF circuits must be configured in limited spaces.

For this reason, there is an increased demand to achieve both increased component density through smaller designs and high Q characteristics that can minimize circuit loss.

Accordingly, Murata developed this inductor in a 008004 inch size with a Q characteristic equal to that of existing 01005 inch size “LQP02TQ series” inductors through ideal designs applying its proprietary materials technology and latest microfabrication technologies. This product is capable of reducing the mounting area by approximately 60% compared to the 01005 inch size. It also has the highest level Q characteristics of 008004 inch sizes in the industry.

As a technology leader, Murata is focused on developing High-Q and compact products to continue contributing further reduced product sizes and higher functionality.
