Murata Releases 0504 Chip Common Mode Choke Coils

17.12.2024

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has newly commercialized noise suppression products, 0504 inch size chip common mode choke coils “DLM11CN_HH2 Series which are suitable for use with high-speed differential interfaces used in automobiles such as LVDS*1, SerDes*2, USB, and HDMI.

Mass production of this product began in December 2024.

In the automobile market, the development of the advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) has led to an increase in the range and number of sensing devices such as vehicle periphery sensing cameras and LiDAR*3, as well as display devices such as around view monitors, headup displays, smart rearview mirrors, and LCD speedometers.

LVDS and SerDes are used for the transmission of image data in these devices. Multiple USB ports are equipped in each vehicle seat as interface for connecting smartphones and computers, which calls for smaller products.

Common mode noise suppression is a key issue for these differential interfaces, and therefore a smaller SMD chip common mode choke coil is in demand for high-speed signals. Drawing on proprietary lamination technique, Murata developed the 0504 inch size―smaller than the conventional 0805 inch size―as a solution to this demand.
