Rubycon Releases High Capacitance Radial Lead Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

18.11.2025
Reading Time: 3 mins read
A A

Rubycon announces the AEW (105°C, 3,000 hours guaranteed) and LEW (105°C, 12,000 hours guaranteed) series — miniaturized, high ripple current aluminum electrolytic capacitors designed for power supply input applications in servers, data centers, and adapters.

With the rapid growth of generative AI and the server market, there’s a growing demand for high-performance, space-saving power solutions.

As AI technology advances, higher data processing capabilities are required, while downsizing and improving server efficiency have become critical challenges.

To meet these market needs, we’ve developed the AEW series (105°C, 3,000 hours guaranteed) and the LEW series (105°C, 12,000 hours guaranteed) as miniaturized, high ripple current aluminum electrolytic capacitors for power supply input applications. Compared to our conventional products, these new capacitors offer a smaller size while delivering high performance even in limited spaces. This enables further efficiency improvements and enhanced reliability in power supply designs for servers, data centers, adapters, and more. As next-generation power solutions, our new products aim to contribute to the industry’s advancement.

Key Features

  • Miniaturized, high-capacitance design: New electrode foil and separator enable higher capacity in limited footprints.
  • High-performance electrolyte: Enhanced stability and conductivity improve reliability under demanding thermal conditions.
  • Performance gains: Up to ~20% higher capacitance and ~17% reduction in volume compared with HXW and LXW series.
  • Target applications: Server and data center power supplies, adapters, and modern high-efficiency designs.

The new aluminum electrolytic capacitors achieve miniaturized size and high capacitance by adopting newly developed high-capacitance electrode foil and separator. In addition, the use of a high-performance electrolyte enhances electrolyte stability and conductivity, improving overall reliability. Through these technical innovations, the new products deliver up to approximately 20% higher capacitance and up to approximately 17% reduction in volume compared with our conventional HXW and LXW series. They offer excellent choices for modern power supply designs that demand higher performance.
