Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, launched its Riedon™ Precision Wirewound Resistor Series by Bourns. Engineered for high accuracy and long-term stability, these latest resistors offer a broad resistance range of up to 6 megohms (MΩ) with ultra-low resistance tolerances (±0.005 percent).

This rugged, high-precision resistor series is housed in multiple axial, radial and square package sizes and is available in a variety of lead configurations, giving designers additional flexibility.

Bourns® new wirewound resistors feature non-inductive multi-Pi cores, protective encapsulation technology and an exceedingly-low standard TCR temperature coefficient of ±2 ppm/°C. These features help minimize inductance and noise while maintaining stability and efficiency even under high heat and harsh electrical conditions.

In addition, the series is 100 percent acceptance tested. An expansive variety of applications can benefit from these new precision wirewound resistors, including measurement equipment, bridge circuits, load cells and strain gauges, imaging systems, current sensing equipment and high-frequency circuit designs.

“The addition of the Riedon™ Precision Wirewound Resistors by Bourns as part of our expanding portfolio demonstrates our commitment to support demanding applications with products that deliver low TCR, tight tolerances, and strong pulse performance,” said Walter Garcia, Resistive Product Line Manager at Bourns. “We also offer the ability to customize these solutions to exacting customer requirements, helping them provide long-term value in critical designs that must meet elevated precision and reliability specifications.”

The Riedon™ Precision Wirewound Resistor Series by Bourns are available now, and are RoHS* compliant.

Features

  • Formerly a Riedon™ product
  • Resistance tolerances to ±1 %
  • TCR to ±6000 PPM/°C
  • Flame & moisture resistant protective encapsulation
  • All welded construction
  • RoHS compliant
