Component Distribution Supply Chain January 2026

S&P reported February Flash Eurozone manufacturing PMI rose to 50.8 from 49.5 in January, reaching a near four-year high, as production and new orders grew at the fastest rates since August 2025 and winter 2022, respectively.

Germany’s flash manufacturing PMI also climbed notably to 50.7 from 49.1, surpassing 50.0 for the first time in over three and a half years, with new orders expanding at the fastest pace in nearly four years. New export orders grew for the first time in seven months, though only modestly. In contrast, the US Flash PMI declined to 51.2 from 52.4 in January, marking the weakest growth in seven months, as production rose at its slowest rate since July and new orders fell slightly for the second time in three months.

The US Supreme Court ruled that Trump exceeded his authority by using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to impose sweeping tariffs, with the majority finding he lacked clear congressional authorization for the action. The decision effects over $175B in collected tariffs that may need refunding, while Trump’s administration says it will explore alternative legal justifications to maintain tariffs under other statutory provisions.
