Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, today announced its Riedon™ Model PF2203 and PFS35 Series High Power Thick Film Resistors by Bourns.

Adding to Bourns’ broad high-power resistor line, the two series are available in compact TO-220 and DPAK packages, offering low inductance, excellent pulse handling capabilities, and elevated power ratings of 35 W that enable enhanced circuit stability and measurement accuracy.

The Riedon™ Model PF2203 and PFS35 Series High Power Thick Film Resistors by Bourns feature a wide resistance value range from 10 Megohms to 51 Kiloohms, have a temperature range of -55 to +175 °C and are available with resistance tolerance options of ±1 percent and ±5 percent.

Bourns is offering these resistors to match market demands for greater power dissipation in smaller packages. Surface mount packaging, such as the DPAK offered with the Model PFS35 Series, is also particularly popular for its ability to help reduce manufacturing costs.

The features of these thick film resistors make them ideal solutions to meet current limiting, current measurement, and capacitor discharge requirements in a broad variety of applications, including industrial motor drives, AC-DC and DC-DC power converters, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The Riedon™ Model PF2203 and PFS35 Series High Power Thick Film Resistors by Bourns are available now, and are RoHS compliant.

Features

  • Formerly a Riedon™ product
  • Resistances from 0.02 to 51K ohms
  • Power rating to 35 watts
  • Resistance tolerances ±1 or ±5 %
  • TCR to ±50 PPM/°C
  • High stability film resistance elements

Applications

  • Power supplies
  • Motor drives
  • Test and measurement
  • Rectifiers
  • Capacitor discharging
  • Snubber circuits
