14 February 2019. The T.I.C. is very pleased to announce that Dr Tomas Zednicek has joined the panel of independent judges for the Anders Gustaf Ekeberg Tantalum Prize, the annual award that recognises excellence in published tantalum research.
Dr. Zednicek said “it is my great honour to receive such invitation from T.I.C. to join Panel of Experts 2019 for The Anders Gustaf Ekeberg Tantalum Prize Competition. I have dedicated more than 21years of my life solely to tantalum capacitor industry and I am glad for the opportunity to utilize this experience to support the T.I.C. mission.”
Dr Zednicek has great experience in the tantalum industry and currently is the President of the European Passive Components Institute. In a statement the T.I.C. said that it was delighted to have someone of Dr Zednicek’s calibre on the panel and looked forward to working with him on the 2019 Ekeberg Prize. The Ekeberg Prize call for publications closes on May 15th and the prize will be awarded at the T.I.C.’s 60th General Assembly in Hong Kong in October 2019. About the Ekeberg Prize:
The Ekeberg Prize is awarded to the lead author(s) of the published paper or patent that is judged to have made the greatest contribution to understanding the processing, properties or applications of tantalum. The prize is sponsored by the T.I.C. and is central to its efforts to publicise the many exceptional benefits afforded by this element.
The long-term future of the tantalum market will depend on technology-driven innovations and winners of the Ekeberg Prize are acknowledged as true leaders in this field. The lead author(s) will be invited to give a presentation on their work at a General Assembly, where they will also receive a medal made of tantalum and a certificate of award presented by the T.I.C.
