Murata Lease MLCC Manufacturing Plant in India

Murata Electronics (India) Private Limited, a subsidiary of Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., has entered into an agreement to lease a factory within an industrial park in India for packaging and shipping of multilayer ceramic capacitors, with the handover taking place in February 2025.

Murata, through this venture, aims to gain valuable experience in factory operations in India, equipping it for future manufacturing activities in the country.

Murata is establishing a factory at OneHub Chennai Industrial Park to manufacture multilayer ceramic capacitors, marking its entry into Tamil Nadu.

In a post on ‘X’, Tamil Nadu Industries Minister TRB Rajaa expressed excitement, stating that they had been in discussions with Murata for about a year and were thrilled to witness the company’s commencement of production in Tamil Nadu.

Murata plans to fully scale up its operations by the financial year 2026. This strategic move aims to provide Murata with hands-on experience in factory operations within India, laying the foundation for future manufacturing expansion in the country.
