SUMIDA to Build New Inductive Components Factory in Northern Vietnam

SUMIDA CORPORATION announced a plan that will expand its inductive components manufacturing footprint in Vietnam.

SUMIDA ELECTRONIC VIETNAM CO., LTD. (hereinafter “SEV”), one of its subsidiaries in Vietnam, will build a new factory in Hai Duong province Vietnam, and plan to relocate its factory from its current rental factory in Hai Phong city to the new factory after its completion in the last quarter of 2024, scheduled to start production at the new factory from the beginning of 2025.

With SUMIDA’s mid-term business plan focusing on the application in growing sectors such as the automotive and the industrial market, SUMIDA is now seizing new business opportunities mainly with xEV market growth. Under these circumstances, facing an urgent need to increase production capacity, SUMIDA decided to build a new factory to respond to the brisk demand.

The production space of the new factory of SEV will be three-times bigger than the current facility, and it will have solar panels installed on its rooftop to meet the total electricity requirement of up to 60% of the new factory. As part of SUMIDA’s ESG goals, this rooftop solar is expected to reduce carbon emissions and electricity costs at its location in Vietnam.
